Softball Recap: High Point Christian Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Grace Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask High Point Christian Academy). They put the hurt on the Grace Christian Crusaders with a sharp 16-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Cougars have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Paisley Dixon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, High Point Christian Academy let Maci Burkhart and Laci Jarrell run wild. Burkhart went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Jarrell scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. That's the most runs Jarrell has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Smith, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

High Point Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .517. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

High Point Christian Academy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Grace Christian, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3.

High Point Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Crusaders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
