Baseball Game Preview: Thorndale Bulldogs vs. Chilton Pirates

Thorndale has gone a perfect 4-0 against Chilton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Thorndale will challenge Chilton at 4:30 p.m. Thorndale's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Chilton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Thorndale took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They blew past Bremond 12-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Brenson Beran was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kade Becker, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Chilton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 25th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Bartlett, falling 22-0.

Thorndale pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Chilton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Thorndale took their win against Chilton in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thorndale since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
