Volleyball Recap: Model Secondary School for the Deaf Takes Down Ranked Field

Model Secondary School for the Deaf faced Field in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Eagles skirted past the Falcons 3-2. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 3-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Model Secondary School for the Deaf got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-12, 24-26, 15-6.

Nirveli Smith paced Model Secondary School for the Deaf's offense, picking up 13 kills. Smith got some help from Matilde Mansfield and her 27 assists. Lila Kochie controlled things from the service line, finishing with 13 aces.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-16 record this season. As for Field, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
