Softball Game Preview: Carbon Hill Bulldogs vs. Hamilton Aggies

The Carbon Hill Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Hamilton Aggies at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Carbon Hill's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Hamilton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Thursday, Carbon Hill needed a bit of extra time to put away Gordo. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Green Wave. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Green Wave recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Ella Hyde spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

On the hitting side, Carbon Hill got a big performance out of Brittany Parker, who scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave Parker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taygen Dozier, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Parker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Carbon Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Hamilton came up short against Curry on Thursday and fell 8-4. The loss continues a trend for the Aggies in their meetings with the Yellowjackets: they've now lost three in a row.

Brilyn Gilstrap made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Ella Rose Bartlett was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

Carbon Hill's record is now 6-3. As for Hamilton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.

Carbon Hill suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Hamilton in their previous matchup on Monday. Can Carbon Hill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
