Softball Recap: Seaford Comes Up Short

Seaford managed to slip by Dover the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bluejays lost 21-11 to the Senators on Monday. The Bluejays' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it five in a row.

Brianna Dorey and Shea Cooper stepped up to the plate in a big way. Dorey went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs, while Cooper went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aiyanna Bennett, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs.

Seaford's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Dover, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Seaford will head out on the road to face off against Early College at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dover, they will be playing at home against Polytech at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Senators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
