Basketball Recap: Groveton Makes It 13 in a Row at Home

On Friday, Groveton faced Colebrook Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Groveton Eagles blew past the Colebrook Academy Mohawks 59-35. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Mohawks: they've now won five in a row.

Groveton's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points over those games. As for Colebrook Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Groveton will welcome Lisbon at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Groveton is facing Lisbon at the right time seeing as Lisbon is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Colebrook Academy, they will be playing at home against Littleton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Littleton will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something Colebrook Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
