Basketball Recap: Martins Mill Takes Down Farwell in a Playoff Battle

Martins Mill had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Farwell Steers 43-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since March 2, 2024.

Farwell's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landri Richey, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Richey is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabella Jaime, who posted ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.

The win was the eighth in a row for Martins Mill, bringing their record for this year to 35-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points over those games. As for Farwell, they moved to 35-4 with that loss, which also ended their 19-game winning streak.
