Football Game Preview: Thorsby Rebels vs. Greensboro Raiders + Official Tickets

The Thorsby Rebels will square off against the Greensboro Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Thorsby comes in on seven and Greensboro on three.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Thorsby against Dallas County as the team secured a 54-8 victory. Considering the Rebels have won four games by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Thorsby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Carroll, who threw for 159 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 32 yards. Those four passing touchdowns gave Carroll a new career-high. Javien Cooper was another key rusher, rushing for 80 yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thorsby was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 200 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greensboro). They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 46-14 win over Wilcox Central. With the Raiders ahead 26-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Greensboro now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Thorsby, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Everything came up roses for Thorsby against Greensboro in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 51-20 win. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
