Basketball Recap: Jordan Moshe and Sean Jones Secure Win for NSU University

NSU University lost to Miami Country Day back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The NSU University Sharks had just enough and edged the Miami Country Day Spartans out 69-67. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Sharks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while the Spartans are ranked 34th).

NSU University was led to victory by Sean Jones and Jordan Moshe. Jones dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Moshe went 10 of 14 en route to 26 points. That's the most boards Jones has posted since back in January of 2024. Justin Rhodes was another key player, putting up six points.

Miami Country Day lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Fernando Romero, who went 10 for 22 on his way to 26 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Reid, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine assists.

NSU University has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Miami Country Day, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-6 record this season.

NSU University didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 86-31 win against Avant Garde Academy on the 28th. Miami Country Day has also already played their next contest, a 66-62 victory against Palmetto on the 29th.
