Cuthbertson has gone a perfect 10-0 against Piedmont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cavaliers are taking a road trip to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Cuthbertson has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with three straight losses, while Piedmont will come in with six straight victories.

On Tuesday, Cuthbertson didn't have quite enough to beat Weddington and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, Cuthbertson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 75th, while Weddington are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Piedmont challenged Central Academy on Monday. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cougars 3-2.

Piedmont pushed their record up to 10-3-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 45 goals over those seven matchups. As for Cuthbertson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Everything went Cuthbertson's way against Piedmont in their previous meeting back in March, as Cuthbertson made off with a 5-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavaliers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
