Soccer Recap: Battlefield Takes a Loss

Battlefield and Deep Run squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Battlefield had to settle for second. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Battlefield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Deep Run are ranked first).

This is the second loss in a row for Battlefield and nudges their season record down to 13-4-1. As for Deep Run, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Battlefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Deep Run, they will face off against Yorktown at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Yorktown will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Deep Run surely won't give up without a fight.
