Basketball Recap: Spruce Creek Takes a Loss

Spruce Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Norland Vikings, falling 70-48. The contest marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Norland found their leader in sophomore Anthony Walcott, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walcott has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Oneal Norelus, who made all 5 shots he took to post 12 points and eight boards.

Spruce Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Norland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spruce Creek will challenge Deltona at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norland, they will face off against Bartow at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.
