Volleyball Recap: Round Rock Triumphs

Round Rock posted their closest win since August 22nd on Thursday. They skirted past the Salado Eagles 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Round Rock who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-13, 17-25, 25-21.

Among those leading the charge was Aubrey Goode, who had 14 assists and nine digs. Those nine digs gave her a new career-high. Trysta Ercoline also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Round Rock's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Salado, their loss ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 15-6.

Round Rock and Salado should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Dragons (ranked 41st) will meet Vandegrift (ranked 302nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Salado will challenge Troy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (66 vs. 305).
