Baseball Game Preview: Kenston Forest Kavaliers vs. Tidewater Academy Warriors

The Kenston Forest Kavaliers will face off against the Tidewater Academy Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Kenston Forest will be strutting in after a victory while Tidewater Academy will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, everything went Kenston Forest's way against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot as Kenston Forest made off with a 14-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Kavaliers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won eight in a row.

Graham Sledd was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 2.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Sledd was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Kenston Forest got a massive performance out of Jobe Sullivan, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Kyle Shaw was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Kenston Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot only posted an OBP of .419.

Meanwhile, Tidewater Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 16-0 to Broadwater Academy on Tuesday.

Kenston Forest took their win against Tidewater Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 17-0. Does Kenston Forest have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tidewater Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
