Basketball Recap: Durango's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

There's no place like home for Durango, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 76-66 victory over the Las Vegas Wildcats on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trailblazers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Durango got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Outlaw-Mcdaniels out in front who went 5 of 9 en route to 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That's the most steals Outlaw-Mcdaniels has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Morrow, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 17 points and six steals.

Durango smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Durango's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 12-8. As for Las Vegas, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-13.

Durango wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 82-48 loss against Centennial on the 24th. As for Las Vegas, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-72 victory against Valley on the 24th.
