Preview: Robinson Knights vs. Lakewood Spartans
Two dominant guards in Jordan Mickens and David Larkin are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Robinson Knights's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lakewood Spartans on February 8th. Robinson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Lakewood likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Robinson had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 82-36 win over the Falcons on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Robinson has managed all season.
It was another big night for Mickens, who scored 23 points along with six assists and six steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Zyon Floyd was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Boca Ciega scored an imposing 58 points on Wednesday, Lakewood still came out on top. Lakewood narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Boca Ciega 60-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lakewood.
Robinson's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Lakewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.
