Soccer Game Preview: Mira Costa vs. Corona

The Mira Costa Mustangs and the Corona Panthers will compete for holiday cheer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Mira Costa is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Bishop Montgomery on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shutout in their previous matchup.

Their offense was hitting Bishop Montgomery from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Sinan Pepemehmetoglu led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Corona waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Knights 5-1.

Mira Costa's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Corona, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1-1.
