Baseball Recap: Freeman Comes Up Short

Freeman fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Deep Run on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 4-2. The Mavericks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 5-3.

Freeman has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Deep Run, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Freeman is set to take on their familiar foe Godwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mavericks 3.3, the Eagles 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Deep Run will challenge rival Glen Allen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
