Softball Game Preview: Owensboro Red Devils vs. Apollo Eagles

Owensboro is 1-9 against Apollo since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Red Devils will welcome the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Owensboro has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Owensboro came up short against Bowling Green on Saturday, falling 13-3.

Meanwhile, Apollo entered their tilt with Madisonville-North Hopkins on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Maroons.

Mollie Julian spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Annsley Hall was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Owensboro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Apollo, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.
