Recap: Simpson Academy Cougars vs. Lamar Raiders
The Simpson Academy Cougars entered their tilt with the Lamar Raiders with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Simpson Academy slipped by Lamar 52-51 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Simpson Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Lamar's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aryah Grace, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Grace's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Blake Hart, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Simpson Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Lamar, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.
