Softball Recap: Grant Community Takes a Loss

Grant Community extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 14-14-1 in the process. They lost 16-6 to the Grayslake Central Rams. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 2, 2023, but that streak is no more.

As for Grayslake Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-12. They haven't had any issues with Grant Community recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

For Grayslake Central's part, the team relied heavily on Autumn Aliff, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Aliff a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cameron Marshall, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Grant Community will challenge Lakes at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grayslake Central, they will venture away from home to face off against Glenbrook North at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
