Basketball Game Preview: Hawley Bearcats vs. Stamford Bulldogs

Hawley hasn't had much luck against Stamford recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hawley Bearcats will challenge the Stamford Bulldogs at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hawley took on Albany on Tuesday. Hawley blew past Albany, posting a 56-16 victory. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Stamford didn't have too much trouble with Anson on Tuesday as they won 52-37.

Hawley has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Stamford, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-18.

Hawley strolled past Stamford in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 53-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hawley since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
