Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern Wells). They blew past the Randolph Southern Rebels 15-4 on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.
Kaylea Coffel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Coffel was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Southern Wells got a massive performance out of Remi Holmes, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Holmes has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Keely Miller, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Southern Wells' win bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Randolph Southern, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southern Wells will face off against Jay County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Randolph Southern, they will take on Union City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
