Softball Recap: Montour Has No Trouble Against Ellwood City

Montour was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against the Ellwood City Wolverine as they made off with a 14-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Gabby McDowell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. Those hits were her first of the season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Shania Cope, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Danielle Terpack also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The victory got Montour back to even at 2-2-1. As for Ellwood City, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Montour will host Shaler Area at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ellwood City, they will square off against Hopewell at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
