Baseball Recap: Vineland Gets the Win

While Vineland's victory against Pitman wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Vineland narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pitman 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Fighting Clan have posted since April 15, 2024.

Kyle Lamanteer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lamanteer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Jake Garton looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Lamanteer wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Santaigo, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Vineland has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs this season. As for Pitman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Vineland and Pitman will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Vineland will face off against rival Mainland Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pitman is set to square off against their familiar foe Clayton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
