Softball Recap: Parker Drops Season-High Score on Jackson-Olin

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Parker). They put the hurt on the Jackson-Olin Mustangs with a sharp 20-1 win on Tuesday. The Thundering Herd might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

Chelsea Ware made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (two). She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Parker got a massive performance out of Leah Ray, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Ray a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Allen, who scored three runs and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-3.

Parker hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive contests.

Parker has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. Jackson-Olin's defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Parker will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jackson-Olin: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
