Basketball Recap: Jase Rinehart and Carson M Free Secure Win for Paint Valley

A well-balanced attack led Paint Valley over Adena in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Paint Valley Bearcats enjoyed a cozy 49-30 victory over the Adena Warriors. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 70-46 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Leading Paint Valley to victory were Carson M Free and Jase Rinehart. M Free dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards, while Rinehart almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which M Free has scored at least a third of Paint Valley's points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Robertson, who posted eight points and five assists.

Paint Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

The victory got Paint Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Adena, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Paint Valley will take on Zane Trace in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Zane Trace will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Paint Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Adena, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
