Basketball Recap: Jersey Village Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Josh Morales and Bryce Jones

Jersey Village lost against Stratford back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Jersey Village Falcons received a blow as they fell 72-55 to the Stratford Spartans. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jersey Village's loss came despite strong showings from Bryce Jones and Josh Morales. Jones went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points, while Morales posted 14 points. Those 19 points gave Jones a new career-high. Champion Ellis Jr. was another key player, putting up six points and seven rebounds.

Jersey Village's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Stratford, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jersey Village won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stratford, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Cy-Fair at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cy-Fair knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Stratford likes a good challenge.
