Football Game Preview: Lewis County Lions vs. East Carter Raiders

Lewis County is 0-5 against East Carter since August of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Lions will be playing at home against the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Lewis County has given up an average of 40.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lewis County is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Russell on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions had to suffer through a 43-7 loss at the hands of the Red Devils. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.

Meanwhile, East Carter entered their tilt with Fleming County on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Panthers 63-28. The Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

East Carter's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Lewis County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Lewis County was taken down by East Carter 41-12 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Lions were down 35-0.
