Soccer Recap: Los Alamos Comes Up Short

Los Alamos faced Rio Rancho in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Rams who were credited with the victory. The Rio Rancho Rams got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Los Alamos Hilltoppers' three. Los Alamos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rio Rancho apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Margaret Steinkamp and Jayden Krupp scored both of Los Alamos' goals, bringing their combined season tally to three goals.

Los Alamos now has a losing record of 1-2-1. As for Rio Rancho, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Los Alamos has already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Sandia Prep on the 5th. As for Rio Rancho, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next match, a 5-0 win against Cibola on the 5th.
