Baseball Recap: Winton Woods Warriors vs. Loveland Tigers
Winton Woods had lost 16 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 0-18 to make it 17. They came up short against the Loveland Tigers, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Friday.
As for Loveland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The result was nothing new for Loveland, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Loveland's part, Rylan Litchfield made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Litchfield has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
