Volleyball Recap: Mt. Carmel Wins Going Away Against Escondido

Mt. Carmel not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4th (when they won 3-0). Everything went their way against the Escondido Cougars as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Sundevils haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Mt. Carmel not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Escondido between 16 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16, 25-17.

Despite the loss, Escondido still got an impressive performance from Quinton Tam, who had 20 digs. Tam is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 11 games he's played.

Mt. Carmel's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Escondido, their loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-17.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel will head out to take on Poway at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Sundevils are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Escondido, they will venture away from home to face off against Rancho Bernardo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
