Basketball Game Preview: Rancho Rams vs. Palo Verde Panthers

The Rancho Rams will square off against the Palo Verde Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rancho's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matchups.

Rancho is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Cimarron-Memorial, who was ranked 11th at the time (Rancho was ranked 15th). Rancho walked away with a 68-55 win over Cimarron-Memorial on Saturday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Palo Verde challenged Pinecrest Academy Cadence on Thursday. Palo Verde blew past Pinecrest Academy Cadence 79-23. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-21.

Rancho has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Palo Verde, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Rancho beat Palo Verde 85-76 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Rancho repeat their success, or does Palo Verde have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
