Recap: Chapin Huskies vs. Horizon Scorpions
The Chapin Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 99-28 victory over Horizon. Chapin's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Jayden Leverett, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hymes, who scored eight points along with seven assists and three steals.
Chapin's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-4. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.94 points. As for Horizon, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
Chapin will head out on the road to face off against Del Valle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Valle will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 595th, while Chapin is ranked 39th). As for Horizon, they will be playing at home against Ysleta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
