Henry County proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Hart County Raiders 4-2. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on six straight.
Kennadie Hamby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Carly Davidson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Henry County pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hart County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Henry County has already played their next game, a 12-0 defeat against Marshall County on the 11th. As for Hart County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bowling Green at 6:00 p.m.
