Basketball Recap: Cypress Christian Takes a Loss

Cypress Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Somerville Yeguas.

When it comes to explaining why Cypress Christian lost, don't look at Roman Escobar. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-14 en route to 17 points and five boards. Thanks to that strong game, Escobar now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Noah Gilfoil, who posted 12 points.

Cypress Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Somerville, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Coincidentally, Cypress Christian and Somerville will both be playing Calvert the next time they take the court. The Warriors will head out to face the Trojans at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Yeguas will play them later in the day, at 11:30 a.m.
