Baseball Recap: Quitman Beats Simsboro for Their Third Straight Victory

Quitman entered their tilt with Simsboro on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-1 back in February.

Hayden Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Quitman is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-13 otherwise.

At the plate, Hudson Pullig was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Maddox Duck was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Quitman now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Simsboro, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-14-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quitman will head out to face off against Calvary Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Simsboro, they will venture away from home to square off against Southwood at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
