Canton and Northville are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Canton Cobras will face off against the Northville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Canton is headed into the match having just posted their biggest win since December 7, 2024 on Friday. Everything went their way against Novi as Canton made off with a 53-27 victory. The Cobras have beaten the Wildcats the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wildcats has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northville). They claimed a resounding 66-30 win over Salem. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while the Rocks are ranked 206th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northville's win came from a few key players Canton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Carly Pelon, who went 9 of 15 on her way to 20 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Sophia Fraas, who posted 18 points.

Northville was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Canton's record now sits at 7-9. As for Northville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Canton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-30 loss to Northville when the teams last played back in January. Can Canton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
