Softball Game Preview: Olentangy Braves vs. Pickerington North Panthers

The Olentangy Braves will take on the Pickerington North Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Olentangy comes in on six and Pickerington North on four.

Olentangy lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Olentangy Liberty, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's contest. The Braves' pitchers stepped up to hand the Patriots a 15-0 shutout on Saturday. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Braves this season.

Meanwhile, Pickerington North hadn't done well against Pickerington Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Panthers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 5-1.

Addison Mickey made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

Mickey wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylani Meadows, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Olentangy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Pickerington North, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
