Preview: Worthington Kilbourne Wolves vs. St. Francis DeSales Stallions
The Worthington Kilbourne Wolves will head out on the road to take on the St. Francis DeSales Stallions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Worthington Kilbourne focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for Worthington Kilbourne, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-50 loss to Westerville South. While losing is never fun, Worthington Kilbourne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Westerville South is ranked 75th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Te'mar Lewis, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Gallogly, who scored ten points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against St. Charles by a score of 56-45.
This is the second loss in a row for Worthington Kilbourne and nudges their season record down to 6-7. As for St. Francis DeSales, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Worthington Kilbourne came up short against St. Francis DeSales when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 49-45. Can Worthington Kilbourne avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
