Softball Preview: Cox Falcons vs. Tallwood Lions
Cox is 2-8 against Tallwood since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Lions at 4:00 p.m. Cox is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Cox made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Churchland, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Falcons put the hurt on the Truckers with a sharp 16-6 victory on Thursday. The contest marked the Falcons' most dominant win of the season so far.

Chloe Vice was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Emmy Bowen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Olivia Peterson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Cox always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .694. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tallwood came up short against Princess Anne on Thursday and fell 7-2.
Tallwood's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Cox, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
