Soccer Game Preview: El Campo vs. Stafford

The El Campo Ricebirds will face off against the Stafford Spartans at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in El Campo's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last six contests.

El Campo's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Monday. They were the clear victor by a 5-0 margin over Palacios. The Ricebirds haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

El Campo hit Palacios with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Landon Smith (3), Orinson Artica, and Alexander Maya.

Meanwhile, everything went Stafford's way against Brazosport last Saturday as Stafford made off with a 5-1 win. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.

The victory made it two in a row for Stafford and bumps their season record up to 15-8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those two contests. As for El Campo, their win bumped their record up to 15-5-2.

El Campo took their victory against Stafford in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 4-1. Does El Campo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stafford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
