Basketball Recap: Madison Cubs vs. Silver Creek Dragons
If the Madison Cubs were feeling good off their 62-40 takedown of the New Washington Mustangs last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Madison took a 78-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dragons on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (62), Madison still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Madison still got an impressive performance from Mason Davis, who scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon True, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Silver Creek found their leader in underclassman Kasen Daeger, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Daeger has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Nate Davidson, who scored 17 points.
Madison dropped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will take on the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Silver Creek, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Bloomington South is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
