Soccer Recap: Diamond Ranch Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Colony

Diamond Ranch won the last time they faced Colony and things went their way on Friday too. The Diamond Ranch Panthers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Colony Titans, sneaking past 2-1. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Titans are ranked 174th).

Mathias Gonzalez and Ivan Cervantes scored both of Diamond Ranch's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

The victory made it two in a row for Diamond Ranch and bumps their season record up to 4-2-3. As for Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Diamond Ranch will finish 2024 at home by hosting Covina at 5:00 p.m. on December 27th. Diamond Ranch's last six matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Colony, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Centennial at 3:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
