Baseball Recap: Murray Takes a Loss

Murray was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-5 to the Mount Ayr Raiders. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Murray's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Mount Ayr, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Coming up, Murray is taking a road trip to challenge East Union at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mount Ayr, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 13-3 defeat against Martensdale-St. Mary's on the 10th.
