Basketball Game Preview: Pilot Grove Tigers vs. Madison Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pilot Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Madison likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Pilot Grove came up short against Glasgow and fell 67-59. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Yellowjackets recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 74-7 loss at the hands of Northeast. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Pilot Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.

Everything came up roses for Pilot Grove against Madison when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 78-18 win. Will Pilot Grove repeat their success, or does Madison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
