Basketball Recap: New Buffalo's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

New Buffalo put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Michigan Lutheran Titans by a score of 67-60. This was payback for the Bison, who suffered a 63-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Buffalo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevor James, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. The game was James' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of M'Nason Smothers, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and three steals.

Despite the loss, Michigan Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Micah Herbst, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Herbst a new career-high. Khannor Hamilton was another key player, putting up eight points.

New Buffalo's record now sits at 3-0. As for Michigan Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

New Buffalo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-32 win against Our Lady of the Lake Catholic on the 10th. As for Michigan Lutheran, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 74-65 victory against River Valley on the 10th.
