Volleyball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

Lincoln extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 6-23. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Johnston Dragons. The Lynx were not able to make up for their loss to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Eliot Powers paced Lincoln's offense, picking up four kills. Powers got some help from Emily Townsend and her 11 assists.

As for Johnston, their record now sits at 11-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since September 20th.

Johnston can attribute much of their success to Grayce Reiners, who had five digs and three aces. Emma Gray also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Lincoln has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Sioux City East on the 7th. As for Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Des Moines Christian on the 4th.
