Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Izzy Mead and Zoe Wockenfus Lead Appleton East to Victory

Appleton East won the last time they faced Appleton West and things went their way on Thursday too. The Patriots blew past the Terrors 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Appleton East walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the second set). The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.

Appleton East was led to victory by Zoe Wockenfus and Izzy Mead. Wockenfus had 16 digs and five assists, while Mead had 11 digs. That's the most assists Wockenfus has posted since back in September. Emma Jacobs also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Appleton East picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 10-21. As for Appleton West, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-24.

Appleton East has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Oshkosh West on the 16th. As for Appleton West, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Fond du Lac on the 16th.
