Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Javier Hernandez and Kadence Cutter Lead Fort Ann to Victory

Fort Ann hadn't done well against Lake George recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Fort Ann Cardinals put the hurt on the Lake George Lakers with a sharp 61-39 win. The victory was nothing new for the Cardinals as they're now sitting on three straight.

Leading Fort Ann to victory were Kadence Cutter and Javier Hernandez. Cutter almost dropped a triple-double with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and nine blocks, while Hernandez almost dropped a triple-double with 19 points, nine boards, and nine assists. The dominant performance gave Cutter a new career-high in blocks. Marcus Stowhas was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Fort Ann was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake George only posted five assists.

Lake George lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Max Hohman, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kyle Lanfear, who posted four points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Fort Ann's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Lake George, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Cardinals challenge the Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake George does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
